Wastewater Equalization Tanks for Inconsistencies of Flow
Equalization tanks play an important role in wastewater management for the control of wastewater within the wastewater treatment system. Wastewater treatment plants are designed to operate at certain flow rates, whether as a continuous flow or batch flow system.
Equalization Tanks for Batch Dumps & Unwanted Discharge
Food processors and manufacturers are forced to deal with batch processes and varying constituents’ rates in the wastewater treatment process. Inconsistencies of flow, batch dumps and unwanted discharges can create problems requiring increased chemicals to correct the flow and unwanted discharges. Using a flow equalisation tank to absorb effluent flows and can help the wastewater treatment plant to operate more efficiently.
Primary Equalisation Tanks
In a wastewater management process, the primary equalisation tanks are where the effluent with contaminants is stored prior to the wastewater treatment facility. Often a slow speed mixer is fitted to keep any suspended solids within the tank in suspension.
Conical Equalisation Tanks
Conical tanks with shallow cone are often liquid with heavy solids or where budget allows. The cone allows these heavy solids to fall to the cone and be drained. In these circumstances, decant valves are fitted to take water off water to the treatment tank.
