Enduramaxx Why are cone bottom tanks used for brewing, mixing, chemicals and wastewater settlement

Conical cone bottom tanks give a complete drain

Conical Cone tanks provide the ultimate solution for applications that require complete drainage. The cone tank enables efficient processing of most liquids and can save money and time when compared to a flat bottom storage tank.

Conical tanks are unique in that their contents discharge completely through a cone point at the centre of their base. Their cone base and smooth internal walls ensure complete discharge. They also permit drainage off of sludge and sediment, whilst retaining the cleaner water.

Where should one consider a conical tank?

Some applications where a cone bottom tank is ideal:

  • Food production
  • Fermented beers
  • Mixing tanks
  • Farming applications
  • Sludge and settlement tanks
  • The treatment of raw sewage
  • Aquaculture

The Enduramxx Conical Tank Advantage

We have a range of cone tanks, with choices of a 5, 15, 30, 45 and 60-degree cone. This cone angle ensures maximum performance, even the most vicious liquids cannot build up inside the tank. The steeper 60-degree angle has been tested and proved as the most effective for solids settling and separation. Our cone tanks are designed to contain liquids with specific gravities up to 1.5 SG.

We supply a heavy-duty galvanised steel support frame as standard, but they are also available without the frame. Our conical tanks range between 250 litre and 30,000 litres capacity.

Are Conical Bottom Tanks Food Grade & WRAS Approved?

Made of a single piece construction from high-density food grade polyethene our plastic conical tanks permit easy viewing of content level in natural light. These tanks are rotationally moulded which ensures a smooth and even finish. The process involves a heated hollow mould filled with a shot weight of polyethene.

The mould is then slowly rotated bi-rotationally causing the softened material to disperse and stick to the walls of the mould. This process results in a robust, long-lasting, UV stabilized water tank from medium density polyethene which can give many years of use.  These tanks are all fully DWI approved and meet the specific requirements of Regulation 31.
