Solids removal & separation tanks for screens & filter press

Conical Solids removal & separation tanks for screens & filter press are increasingly used with wastewater treatment systems as settlement tanks in conjunction with filter presses and screens.  Sometimes there are lumps of material that escape on the pass-through and this water is run to a conical tank for the particles to settle by gravity. This enables effective removal and settlementation within the sludge tank. As these larger lumps are heavier than water, they often fall quickly allowing this water to be passed through again a short while later.

Feed Tanks – Common sizes used

5,000-10,000 litre Feed Tanks – Our vertical 5,000 and 10,000-litre vertical flat base tanks are commonly used for this application as they can be customised with fittings and flanges to suit product requirements. Flanges with backing rings, blind flanges and level gauges are some of the fittings which can be incorporated on these tanks to connect to pipework for equipment.

Settlement / Sedimentation Tanks – Common sizes used

For settlement applications, common sizes of tanks are the 2,000 – 3,000 litre cone tanks for settlement. these are available with a shallow 30 dig cone or a stepper 60 deg cone. common configurations are to have a sludge drain in the bottom of the tank and decant valves up the side of the tank. These are often open top tank in which raw water is pumped into the top of the tank. This conical tank design with the cone gives effective sedimentation of the suspended solids leaving effluent sludge to be taken away.
