Flat & Cone Bottom Mixing Tanks are both used as mixing vessels, however, there are several big differences between the two styles of the tank. The biggest difference being the cone bottom tanks providing a full drain for process, drainage and cleaning.

Flat mixing tanks provide optimum capacity distributing the weight evenly across the base of the tank. Flat base mixer tanks are more competitive per litre of capacity as they do not require a separate frame like a cone tank. However, it is difficult to get a full drain for batch mixing and difficulties when cleaning to prevent reactions between incompatible ingredients.

Cone bottom mixing tanks provide a full drain while at the same time preventing helping prevent powders and solids from falling out of suspension. Conical mixer tanks are generally used for batch processes where difference batches of products require washdown or CIP cleaning to prevent contamination between batches.

Flat Base Mixer Tanks

Flat bottom mixing tanks are rotationally moulded plastic tanks of a single piece construction. These high-density food-grade materials in natural (white) colour permit easy viewing of content level in natural light. These tanks can be to specify to 1.5 and 2.0 SG for different liquids.

Conical bottom mixing tanks are single piece tank made from food-grade polyethene. Our plastic mixer tanks permit easy viewing of content level in natural light. Our range of conical tanks is designed for the containment of liquids up to 1.5 SG. The heavy-duty galvanised steel support frame is supplied as standard.
